Why HarmonyWorks?
Because harmony does work when you are in tune with yourself and the natural world around you. Everything in Nature vibrates to different frequencies, some audible and some inaudible to the human ear. Sound healing can help you clear your energy field and create the stillness needed to connect with Nature.
One of the definitions of harmony is “An orderly or pleasing combination of elements in a whole.” Nature is the whole, and you are one of the elements.
The Healing Power of Sedona
Sedona is internationally renowned for the vortex energy, or special magnetic frequency, that has been helping people heal in the modern era and back in ancient times. The local tribes of the Hopi, Navajo, Yavapai-Apache, and many other nations all respect this area as sacred land, and some tribes still perform ceremonies here during certain times of the year. History tells us that the Native people did not live here in high numbers but visited for healing purposes and ceremonies.
About Karen Walker

Karen Walker is certified in Integral Sound Healing through the Sound Healing Academy in the UK. She brings over 30 years of healing arts experience to each session. Karen learned various body therapies at the Desert Institute for Healing Arts in Arizona and The Body Therapy Institute in North Carolina, as well as training in breathwork, astrology, crystal therapy, and other healing practices.
Karen has also facilitated group experiences in drumming, tribal dance, toning, and ceremony. She also earned a BFA in acting from USC, which trained her to use her body as an instrument for sound, rhythm, and movement. She taught acting, performed for all ages, and practiced as a licensed bodyworker for over 20 years.
In the aging life care sector, Karen worked in senior communities for several decades as an activities director, director of an adult day center, and dementia educator. She trained with Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FOATA, and Melanie Bunn, RN, MS, GNP, both renowned dementia care educators. This superb training offered applicable tools for assisting individuals living with dementia, their family members, and the communities that they live within. Karen uses music, rhythm, and movement to help engage people living with dementia and other aging challenges.
Her Story
Karen has a diverse background that combines science, arts, and metaphysics. From birth, she accompanied her parents as they frequented the Native American Indian dances of the Yaqui, Hopi, Navajo, Zuni, Apache, Tarahumara, and various Mexican indigenous tribes. She spent her first decade traveling throughout Mexico and the United States instead of attending public school while her parents collected snakes and native seeds.
Karen was exposed to Transcendental Meditation at age five, and she remembers sitting on a rock and waiting for her magic word to come. She explored Raja Yoga, Nicherin Shosho Buddhism, Evangelical Christianity, Astrology, American Indian Ceremony, and other mind-expanding disciplines. She has traveled to sacred sites worldwide, including Bali, Uxmal, and Uluru, and values the richness of Earth’s beautiful spots.
Her most valued experiences are the two home waterbirths of her now-adult children. Today she lives in Sedona and practices in a local studio, senior communities, private homes, and outside on the land.
What does Karen say about her work?
“For some, this may be something that is ‘out there’ and new to your repertoire of body therapies. I would say that integral sound healing is something you must experience to understand.
Sound can work on a variety of issues but will always affect the brainwave patterns, help you calm your mind, and shift into a deeper, receptive state. The slower brainwave state allows your autonomic nervous system to relax many of the body’s vital functions, such as breathing, digestion, and heart rate.
It is from this relaxed state that many types of healing can occur. When you receive focused sound, you can bring your physical, mental, and emotional health into harmony with your highest potential. You are the change agent, and your intent is the active ingredient. ”
